"Well, if you'll remember correctly it's not my problem." He spoke it with the tone of someone who was explaining something very simple to a stupid child. Considering their history, it might as well have been the case. "I gave you a simple task, Lieutenant, a very simple, short task, and you couldn't even manage that. Would you really call that an issue, or are you just trying to make me feel bad?"
He stepped away from his desk and the move only served to bring them closer together. Hazama wasn't backing down, and if Noel didn't either she'd more than likely find herself chest to chest with the object of her ire. Hands shoved into his pockets, he regarded her smoothly and, like always, with that enigmatic little smile on his face that was a step away from outright cruelty.
But then his face broke out into a seemingly genuine smile, and he laughed.
"I'm just kidding, of course I'm not going to leave you here, Miss Vermillion. But then the question is -- what do you want me to do about this? It's already getting late, and between the two of us--- well, I've seen that pile of paperwork on your desk. You really shouldn't spend so much time gorging yourself at lunch, maybe you'd be able to get some actual work done instead of sinking yourself into food comas. I don't think we'd be able to do much, I'm afraid."
