that would be the cutest kidnapper ever tbh but I would totally be down. I think that would throw Kuro for a loop because in his world Japan was destroyed forever ago, and seeing him try and get adjusted to a semi-normal life.... :') i'm down for it!!

it's not actually Japan (or more like it was never said to be Japan and they avoid giving names to the cities), but the similarities are enough to be Japan-like yeah. WE CAN GO WITH WHATEVER SOUNDS MORE INTERESTING TO PLAY FOR YOU. Shino would ask the owner of an inn to let Kuro stay there and use the allowance he gets from Rio to help Kuro. He would notice that a lot of people Shino likes live there for some reason or another.

that sounds super cute, let's do that. :3c
I HOPE THIS WORKS
The Imperial Capital is a strange mix of western and eastern culture, with some European buildings in the richest and newest districts of the city, and traditional Japanese 1940s buildings in the old one. In the Old District, Shino had taken Kuro to Konaya inn since the first day they arrived and convinced the Mistress to let him live there. That inn is homey and big, with delicious food and it seems to be always busy. Among the people that live there, there's this huge ball of fur and one eye that devours meat and practically anything, a tengu that talks and a lot of people that Shino knows but Shino has focused more on letting Kuro slowly adapt than trying to introduce him to anyone really.
But today Shino is looking for Kuro with A PLAN. So he's searching the place and then heading to his room that is most likely at the end of the hall.]
Kuro?
IT'S PERFECT
he doesn't understand this place, he doesn't understand anything. the only thing that makes sense is Shino, and as long as he was here then Kuro was all right. still, even he knew that here, in his world, Shino couldn't stay with him all the time (even if he really wanted him to) so he was gradually becoming used to existing on his own again.
when he wasn't thrashing himself awake from nightmares, he sat by the window watching the people walk by. it was so.. calm. the people here placed their worries in simple things, like what they'd make for dinner and what was the weather going to be like today. there was no need for them to worry if they'd make it to the next day, or if they'd have to kill someone just so there was enough food to go around.
he felt completely displaced from everything, like it was all just a dream he was going to wake up from.
he doesn't hear Shino at first, too busy watching everything and trying not to think too hard on what would happen if he jumped. but eventually he breaks out of his stupor and goes to open the door, clothes still slightly wrinkled from sleeping in them and hair a little mussed. ]
Shino.
<3
[it'd be a lie to say Shino hasn't been worried about Kuro. in fact, since they had been back he had tried to visit every day, in part because he was worried and also because he had gotten used to his presence. He's carrying a box with madeleines and assorted buns, and since the moment Kuro opens the door he's going inside and putting the box away somewhere before turning his attention back to him.]
Could you sleep?

[ he hadn't yet picked through the furniture in the room since he'd arrived. he used the bed, and the toilet, and the shower, but he usually just put on what he'd worn after he was done.
he makes sure to close and lock the door behind Shino, and goes to sit listlessly on the bed. ]
I don't know. I don't remember.

[moves to said closet, where there's probably different sets of yukatas, men's kimonos, hakamas and some regular shirts and pants inside. Mysteriously enough, they seem to be accurate for his size (most likely thanks to the owner of the inn rather than Shino). He looks at Kuro now, though, as if considering something.]
But if you want something more specific we could go buy clothes.
no subject
No. It's okay.
no subject
Kuro?
no subject
[ he squeezes him gently, and then
presses a hand on his shoulder to shove him onto his bed none too gently ]
no subject
What's wrong?
no subject
no subject
We should go out.
no subject
Why? Go where?
no subject
See the capital. We could go eat together and take a walk.
no subject
[ he's going to press into the touch anyway, closing his eyes as though he's already decided to lay in bed all day ]
no subject
[sits up, pushing Kuro a little so he's on his back and Shino can straddle his hips.]
no subject
Why not?
no subject
Because it's like you're hiding from it.
no subject
he doesn't answer, but he does meet Shino's gaze evenly, and he probably doesn't have to say anything with how fearful he looks ]
no subject
We've got time, Kuro.
no subject
[ he runs his fingers over Shino's back and then adds: ]
For a little while.
no subject
Okay. But we'll go after.
[and leans down enough to press their foreheads together.]
